Nagpur, Dec. 8 -- Former state Congress president Nana Patole on Monday accused the Fadnavis government of silencing the Opposition and running Maharashtra in a "Gujarat-style undemocratic manner".

At the legislature complex in Nagpur where the Assembly winter session began, Patole said the government is methodically trying to suppress the Opposition's voice.

He alleged that by denying the post of Leader of Opposition (LoPs) in the state legislature, the government has removed a crucial pillar of democracy.
