Mumbai, April 12 -- The "triple engine" government in Maharashtra has betrayed the trust of the people, and farmers are ending their lives as there is no crop insurance compensation, no loan waivers, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Harshvardhan Sapkal said here today.

Sapkal demanded that the Devendra Fadnavis-led state government be booked for culpable homicide in farmer suicide cases, as another farmer ended his life after being unable to pay back loans.
