New Delhi, Jan. 8 -- The Delhi High Court had on November 12 issued a directive for the swift removal of encroachments and unauthorised commercial activities on government land near the Faiz e Elahi mosque near Turkman Gate in old Delhi.

The High Court had set a strict deadline of three months for authorities to initiate and complete the encroachment removal process.

The order was passed in response to a public interest litigation filed by Save India Foundation, which highlighted illegal occupations detailed in a joint survey report.
