Bhubaneswar, Dec. 16 -- Anticipating a massive influx of devotees to Puri on the occasion of New Year 2026, Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Y. B. Khurania on Tuesday emphasized the need for extensive security arrangement across the holy city.
The DGP directed senior police officers to ensure orderly darshan of devotees within the Shri Jagannath Temple complex, effective crowd management, proper supervision of traffic and parking arrangements, and regular patrolling along the sea beach.
He also instructed the installation of CCTV cameras at important junctions and strict checking in hotels and lodges.
The administration expects lakhs of devotees to visit Puri during the New Year to have darshan of Lord Shri Jagannath.
