New Delhi, Nov. 11 -- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday called for extending India's self-reliance in defence manufacturing to digital sovereignty, asserting that true strategic autonomy will only be achieved when the nation gains control over the algorithms, data, and chips that drive modern technology.
Speaking at an event in New Delhi, Singh emphasised that India's software and data ecosystems must become as indigenous as its hardware capabilities to safeguard national security and technological independence. "Let us extend our Aatnirbharata to algorithms, data, and chips," the defence minister asserted.
He said true strategic autonomy will come only when "our code is as indigenous as our hardware".
