Ayodhya, Oct. 10 -- A series of explosions in Paglabhari village under the Purakalandar police station area of Ayodhya has left six people dead and raised serious concerns about the local administration's handling as well as explanation of the incident.

The first blast occurred on Thursday evening in the house of local resident Ramkumar, killing five people. However, a second explosion on Friday during debris removal has shattered the administration's initial theory that a gas cylinder blast caused the tragedy.

During the clearance of debris with the help of a JCB machine, a powerful explosion injured a revenue officer (lekhpal) Akash Singh who was on duty.
