Kolkata, May 19 -- An explosion in a flat rocked the industrial town of Titagarh under the Barrackpore Police Commissionerate in North 24 Parganas on Monday morning triggering panic among residents, police and eye-witnesses said.
There was no casualty in the blast, the police said, adding it set the residents on edge in the jute mills belt. A part of a wall collapsed in the impact of the explosion at Bashbagan block.
The explosion was reported on the top 5th floor around 6:30 am, which is allegedly rented by TMC councillor Md Riazudding alias Arman Mondal of Ward No. 4, said the building promoter Anil Gupta. Gupta told reporters that the Councillor was not returning the keys.
