Kolkata, May 23 -- The Exit Poll prediction, which Bengal Chief Minister Mamata
Banerjee dubbed ''Exit Poll Gossip'', is turning out to be true with the BJP taking
comfortable lead in 16 Lok Sabha seats in the state as far as the latest available
trends.
The ruling Trinamool Congress is leading in 25 seats, while the Congress in one.
The most pathetic situation is facing the Left Front in Bengal, which is yet to take
lead from any constituency.
After initial rounds of counting, Left Front's vote share is down to 6.9 per cent from
19.75 per cent in 2014, while the BJP's is up from 17.02 per cent (2014) to above 38
per cent, a jump of about 21 per cent.
