Chennai, Feb. 21 -- With yesterday's Low Pressure (LP) Area over the bay becoming less marked and started moving towards Sri Lanka, a fresh LP area has formed over the same region on Saturday.
Met office in an update today said it is likely to move west-northwestwards and become more marked during the next 24 hrs.
It said under the influence of the upper air cyclonic circulation over Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal, a Low Pressure Area has formed over the same region at 0530 hrs today.
The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extended upto 5.8 km above mean sea level.
