Patna, May 26 -- The Special Vigilance Court of Mohammad Rustam awarded one-year rigorous imprisonment to an excise inspector in a bribery case.
The court, while pronouncing the verdict on Monday also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 against accused police officer Vijay Kumar Chaurasiya, the then excise inspector of Biharsharif-based excise department in Nalanda District.
The excise Inspector was arrested on November 2, 2007 while allegedly receiving a bribe of Rs 5,000 per month from a government liquor shopkeeper to allow him to run his shop.
