Agartala, Feb. 20 -- Police produced a former Panchayat Pradhan of CPI-M, Habib Uddin, in a session court in Tripura's Unakoti district on Thursday seeking his remand, who was arrested on the charge of misappropriation of government funds to the tune of Rs 37 lakh.
The Sub Divisional Police Officer Kailashahar Jayanta Karmakar said BDO Gournagar block in October 2022 had lodged a complaint against syphoning of development funds of Srinathpur village. Accordingly, police arrested the then panchayat secretary, Yamir Ali.
