Kolkata, Sept. 11 -- Former West Bengal minister and Trinamool Congress MLA Paresh Adhikary and his daughter Ankita Adhikary have moved a local court seeking exemption from the ongoing school jobs recruitment case.
Appearing before the court today, the father-daughter duo pleaded innocence.
Ankita claimed she had secured the teaching post on merit, while their lawyer argued that at the time of her appointment, Paresh Adhikary was not holding any official position and therefore could not have influenced the recruitment process.
The court is expected to hear their petition at a later date.
