Bengaluru, Sept. 18 -- Former Karnataka Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda today said cyber criminals hacked into three of his bank accounts and siphoned off Rs 3 lakh through UPI transactions.

Speaking at a programme organised in the city to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 75th birthday, where 75 civic workers were felicitated at BBMP Park in RMV Extension, Gowda revealed that the hackers targeted his HDFC, SBI and Axis Bank accounts.

"Yesterday, three of my bank accounts were hacked. Each account lost about Rs 1 lakh, totalling Rs 3 lakh. The hackers stole the money through UPI transfers. I will be filing a complaint with the Cyber Crime police," Gowda said.
