Kolkata, Aug. 18 -- A city court today granted bail to former Jadavpur University student Hindol Majumdar in a case of attack on West Bengal Education Minister Bratya Basu's car on March 1 at the JU complex, court sources said.

Majumdar, who is pursuing higher studies in Spain, was arrested on August 13 from a Delhi airport when he was returning home, for his alleged involvement in the attack on minister Bratya Basu's car in the campus.

The Delhi Police arrested him following a lookout notice and the Kolkata Police got him on transit remand to the city.

Kolkata Police thereafter got him for three days custody. Today Hindol Majumdar was produced before the Alipur court for further judicial process.
