Amravati, Nov. 2 -- Former Maharashtra Home Minister and senior NCP leader Anil Deshmukh today sharply criticised the state government, alleging widespread irregularities in voter lists and raising concerns about electoral malpractices.
Addressing a press conference here, Deshmukh called for immediate action to support farmers, particularly in soybean procurement. "Farmers are suffering, yet the government remains inactive. With 11 per cent of cotton being imported from outside the state, local farmers are deprived of fair prices," he said.
On alleged electoral irregularities, Deshmukh claimed that the names of individuals from outside Maharashtra have been added to voter lists. "At the official residence of Mumbai's Municipal Commissione...
