Patna, Oct. 16 -- A special vigilance court today sentenced a former assistant of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) to one year of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 in connection with a bribe case.
Special Judicial Magistrate (Vigilance) Mohammad Rustam, after hearing the case, convicted Bhupendra Prasad Singh, the former assistant at FCI's Ramchandrapur Bihar Sharif Market Committee office, under various provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act. If the fine is not paid, the convict will have to serve an additional one-month imprisonment.
