Bhopal, Aug. 4 -- A former bureaucrat-turned-writer has published his fifth book, a novel woven around a valuable diamond mentioned in the 'Baburnama'.

Titled The Great Mughal, the 102-page novel by Asit C. Chandra, a retired Indian Revenue Service officer, has been published by Indra Publishing House. It was released by renowned litterateur Govind K Mishra, former chairman of Central Board of Direct Taxes at the Chandra house during a function.

Speaking on the occasion, Chandra said, "After Babur emerged victorious in the First Battle of Panipat, Humayun was sent to Agra to take control of the city. He received the precious diamond from the family of Bikramjit, governor of Gwalior, who was killed in the battle. He gave it to Babur, who ...
