Rio De Janeiro, April 6 -- Former Brazil national team manager Dorival Junior was sacked as head coach of Corinthians after a poor run of form.

The announcement followed a 1-0 home loss to Internacional, a result that left the Sao Paulo club 16th in the 20-team Brazilian Serie A standings with two wins from 10 games.

In a statement late on Sunday, Corinthians said under-20 coach William Batista would take over the role on an interim basis, according to Xinhua.
