Hyderabad, May 22 -- The Hyderabad Cybercrime Police have arrested a 32-year-old man from Andhra Pradesh on charges of impersonating as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) of Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and attempting to extort money from businesspersons using fake email IDs and WhatsApp accounts, a police release here on Thursday.
The accused B Nagaraju, a former State-level cricket player of Andhra Pradesh, is a native of Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh.
Based on a complaint from the CM's OSD, the cybercrime police booked a case accused U/s 66C, 66D of the IT Act, and Section 319(2) of the BNS by the Cyber Crime Unit, Hyderabad and nabbed Nagaraju from Narsannapeta village (Srikakulam District).
