Every penny spent on by-election campaign must be accounted for: Expenditure Observer

Hyderabad, Oct. 22 -- Expenditure Observer Sanjeev Kumar Lal has directed officials to ensure that every rupee spent by candidates contesting the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election is properly recorded and reflected in their expenditure accounts.

Conducting a surprise inspection today, Lal visited the MCMC, Electronic Media Monitoring Room, MCC Control Room, 1950 Complaints Centre, and Social Media Monitoring Cell set up at the GHMC headquarters. He expressed satisfaction over the functioning of these centres.

He emphasised that all campaign rallies, public meetings, roadshows, media advertisements, and paid news should be closely monitored and recorded.
