Thiruvananthapuram, Jan. 7 -- Statistics show that one woman in India is diagnosed with breast cancer every four minutes, underscoring the growing public health challenge posed by the disease.

Kerala records the highest incidence in the country, with 35 to 40 cases per one lakh population. District-wise figures indicate that Thiruvananthapuram has the highest number of breast cancer cases in the State, while studies reveal that the lifetime risk of developing the disease in Kerala is as high as one in 28 women.
