Moscow, March 6 -- The European Union is preparing responses to US tariffs but is still trying to dissuade President Donald Trump from taking the step, French President Emmanuel Macron said.
"We must be ready if the United States introduces tariffs on European goods, as it has just done with Canada and Mexico. This decision is unclear for both our and the US economy and will have consequences for some of our industries. It will not go unanswered by us either. While we prepare responses with our European partners, we continue to do everything possible to convince the US president," Macron said in a speech broadcast by BFMTV.
