Nagpur, Dec. 14 -- Serious concerns over the rise in communal violence and incidents of mob lynching across Maharashtra were raised in the state Legislative Assembly on Sunday with a legislator from the Marathwada region citing multiple cases to highlight what he described as a deteriorating social atmosphere.
Raising the issue, MLA Abdus Sataar from the Sillod constituency in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar referred to incidents reported from areas including Nanded, Jamnair, and Jalgaon district. He expressed concern that certain local elements were, through wrongful practices, inflaming religious sentiments and contributing to communal tensions.
