New Delhi, Dec. 21 -- Amid ongoing controversy on the Aravalli mountain range, Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav today stated that no relaxation has been granted in the protected status of the region.

"The Aravalli spans four states-Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Gujarat-across 39 districts. The legal petition concerning the Aravalli has been ongoing since 1985.

"We also support strict regulations against mining in the Aravalli," Yadav told reporters.

He referred to a Supreme Court directive that calls for a uniform definition of the Aravalli across all four states.
