Lucknow, Oct. 22 -- In a decisive move against police corruption, Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Rajiv Krishna has launched a major crackdown following a sting operation exposing cops extorting money from truck drivers under the pretence of "fees" for allowing overloaded trucks to pass through.
Acting swiftly on the findings, the DGP ordered the suspension of several police personnel across multiple districts. This includes one Station House Officer (Sub-Inspector) and one constable each from the Badosa Police Station in Banda district and the Mahewaghat Police Station in Kaushambi district.
