New Delhi, Dec. 6 -- Amid the US slapping punitive sanctions on New Delhi for its purchase of Russian oil, India said today that ensuring stable energy prices and secure supplies are the twin goals of its sourcing policy.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, answering a question on the US sanctions on India for purchase of Russian oil, said at a briefing on Russian President Putin's visit: "In so far as discussion on energy is concerned, and the narrative on energy security, we have been fairly clear in communicating that as a significant importer of energy, our priority is to ensure that 1.4 billion people in India have their energy needs secured.
