Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 28 -- The Kerala State Election Commission has announced that ballot units for the upcoming local body elections will feature Braille inscriptions on the right side, enabling visually impaired voters to cast their votes independently.

Election officials have been directed to ensure special facilities for senior citizens, differently-abled voters, and individuals with medical conditions, enabling them to enter polling stations and cast their votes without having to wait in queues. All polling stations will feature ramps, drinking water, and adequate seating arrangements, ensuring accessibility and comfort for voters with disabilities.
