London, Jan. 8 -- Former England striker and manager Kevin Keegan has been diagnosed with cancer, his family announced.
In a statement released by his family on Wednesday, details of his condition were confirmed following recent medical investigations.
"Kevin was recently admitted to the hospital for further evaluation of ongoing abdominal symptoms," the statement said.
"These investigations have revealed a diagnosis of cancer, for which Kevin will undergo treatment. Kevin is grateful to the medical team for their intervention and ongoing care.""During this difficult time, the family is requesting privacy and will be making no further comment," the statement added.
