Pallekele, Feb. 22 -- Sri Lanka produced a clinical bowling and fielding effort to restrict England to 146 for nine in the Super 8 Group 2 match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium here on Sunday.

After winning the toss and opting to bowl, Sri Lanka struck at regular intervals to derail England's innings despite a fighting 62 off 40 balls from Phil Salt. The opener reached his half-century in 36 deliveries and struck six fours and two sixes, but lacked sustained support from the middle order.
