Bokaro, Nov. 17 -- A herd of wild elephants created panic in the remote forested region of Kharkanda in Bokaro on Sunday night, resulting in the death of a 45-year-old villager, Sanjho Devi.

The elephants reportedly damaged several houses before attacking the woman, who died on the spot.

According to official sources on Monday, residents have urged forest authorities to drive the herd out of the area to prevent further loss of life and property.
