New Delhi, May 1 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday introduced new initiatives aimed at improving the accuracy of electoral rolls, making the voting process more convenient for citizens.

These measures include utilising electronic death registration records to review electoral rolls, issuing standardised photo ID cards to Booth Level Officers (BLOs), and improving the design and accessibility of voter slips, an official statement said.

These measures are in line with the initiatives as envisaged by the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India Gyanesh Kumar during the Conference of Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs), in the presence of Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi in March this year.
