Colombo, June 11 -- The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), the country's electricity regulator, has approved a 15% nationwide hike in electricity tariffs, which will come into effect from tomorrow.



In a statement, the PUCSL said tariffs for electric vehicle charging stations will remain unchanged.



The tariffs come after a comprehensive government review and public consultations on what was earlier a proposed hike of 18.3% electricity by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).



After review, the PUSL reduced the original number, limiting the tariff increase to 15%, reports Daily Mirror SL.
