Lucknow, Oct. 3 -- Electricity demand in Uttar Pradesh has surged to levels comparable to- or even higher than those in May and June.
Officials said Uttar Pradesh is grappling with unusually high temperatures as October begins, pushing electricity demand closer to peak summer levels.
According to officials here today, electricity demand in the state has remained around 30,000 MW, often surpassing peaks seen in May and June.
State Load Dispatch Center (SLDC) data shows that peak power demand has consistently remained above 29,000 MW since September 22, reaching 30,255 MW on September 25.
The demand reached 30,004 MW at 9:30 pm on September 29, compared to 29,290 MW at 8:50 am on September 30.
