Shimla, March 19 -- In a bid to sensitise people about their electoral rights, Himachal Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) on Tuesday announced that Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELCs) are being setup across the state to spread awareness about the Indian electoral process.

He told media that as many as 7,681 ELCs have already been set up throughout the state, whose aim is to familiarise students about Indian electoral system via interesting activities. 1,616 ELCs have been installed in schools, besides 227 in colleges. These clubs seems to play a pivotal role in educating future voters and first-time voters about voting.
