Patna, Oct. 4 -- A full team of the Election Commission headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar today held discussions with political parties seeking their suggestions before the Bihar assembly elections.
According to a press statement issued here, CEC Kumar, along with other Election Commissioners and Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Bihar Vinod Singh Gunjiyal, held discussions with political parties of Bihar and sought their suggestions to ensure free and fair upcoming state assembly elections.
Political parties are foundation stones of democracy, and they should play an active role in extending help to the Election Commission in conducting elections, the Commission noted.
