Shillong, Oct. 14 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) has delisted three registered unrecognised political parties having registered addresses in Meghalaya, an election official said today.

The Meghalaya Democratic Party, North East Social Democratic Party and Regional Democratic Secular Congress figured in the list of 474 registered unrecognised political parties that were delisted across the country.

"These delisted political parties would not be eligible to avail any benefit under the provisions of Section 29B and Section 29C of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 and relevant sections of the Income Tax Act, 1961 and the Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 1968," the official said.
