Chandigarh, Feb. 1 -- In a chilling incident that has sent shockwaves through the local community, an 81-year-old Non-Resident Indian (NRI) woman was found brutally murdered at her residence in the Nai Abadi area of Khanna, Ludhiana district on Sunday.
The victim, identified as Jagpal Kaur, a retired teacher, had been living alone in her house since returning from Canada in October 2025. Her body was discovered by the police inside a bathroom on Sunday after neighbors reported a foul smell emanating from the premises.
