Chennai, May 12 -- An elderly couple were found murdered
in their house near Suramangalam in Salem district on Sunday
night and jewels stolen.
Police have arrested a 32-year-old migrant worker on Monday
in connection with the murder for gain, which has sent shock
waves in the locality.
Police sources said R. Baskaran (70), who runs a grocery shop, was
living with his wife Vidya (65) alone in the house.
They were found murdered inside their house and their jewels were
found missing.
Police formed five special teams to nab the culprits and after verifying
the CCTV footages in the locality, they arrested a migrant worker from
Bihar, who was living near the couple's house, for several years, and
seized about 10 sovereigns of gold cha...
