Patna, Oct. 9 -- The Election Commission today announced that the elderly, physically challenged and service voters can exercise their franchise using Postal Ballot in the Bihar Assembly elections.

Sources at the state election office said here that electors above the age of 85 years and electors with benchmark disabilities may cast their vote through the postal ballot using form 12 D and submit to the Returning Officer through their BLO within five days of issuance of notification of election.

The sources informed that the electors on essential services duty on the date of polling can apply for the postal ballot facility through the designated Nodal officer of their respective department.
