Varanasi, Dec. 18 -- An eight-year-old boy was crushed to death by a speeding JCB (Hydra) on Wednesday afternoon near Sundarpur Vegetable Market in the Bhelupur area of Varanasi.
The child was sitting on his father's motorcycle at the time of the incident. The tragic death sparked anger among locals, who staged a road blockade in protest.
Upon receiving information, local police officials reached the spot along with Cantonment BJP MLA Saurabh Srivastava. During efforts to pacify the agitated crowd, the MLA was seen sitting with the child's body in his lap.
