Hazaribagh, March 22 -- Jharkhand Police have arrested eight ultras of the banned Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC) with arms in Hazaribagh district, officials said on Sunday.
Acting on a tip-off received on March 21 about movement of ultras in the Urimari colliery area, a special team was constituted to carry out a raid.
During the operation near Aswa and Gudkuwa villages, police intercepted a suspicious Bolero vehicle. The occupants attempted to flee, but the vehicle lost control and met with an accident, following which all the suspects were apprehended.
Police said two INSAS rifles, one country-made pistol and a large quantity of live ammunition were recovered from the vehicle.
