Imphal, May 17 -- Eight militants were apprehended by police and security personnel in different operations during the last 24 hours.

One of them was a cadre of Chin Kuki National Defence Force (CKNDF), based in Moreh (India) and Myanmar identified as Thongkhohou Touthang of Tonglal Veng, Churachandpur District from Tuibong under Churachandpur-PS, Churachandpur District.

He is involved in the recruitment of youth for armed insurgency for CKNDF group and cross-border arms and cadre movement. He is also involved in demanding extortion from the public in the name of CKNDF.
