Cairo, Jan. 4 -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on Sunday held a phone call with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, to discuss the Gaza ceasefire and a range of regional issues, Egypt's Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The two ministers exchanged views on the situation in the Gaza Strip amid "tragic humanitarian conditions."They stressed the need to consolidate the ongoing ceasefire in Gaza, which has been mediated by Egypt, Qatar, Turkiye, and the United States, and to move forward with the obligations of the second phase of the ceasefire.
