Kolkata, Aug. 7 -- The Engineering Export Promotion Council of India (EEPC India ) today said the Donald Trump administration's latest decision to double the import duty to 50 per cent on Indian goods was disappointing and suggested that there is still room for negotiations in the next three weeks for an interim trade deal.
"The Trump administration's decision to double the import duty to 50 pc on Indian goods is very disappointing. It potentially threatens to derail the ongoing trade talks between the two countries," EEPC India chairman Pankaj Chadha said, while reacting to the US trade tariff decision.
