Jamtara, Dec. 18 -- The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested an employee of the Education Department red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 6,000 under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan in Jamtara district.
According to official sources, the accused has been identified as clerk Saurav Kumar, posted under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.
He allegedly demanded a bribe from CRP Supervisor Ras Bihari Jha of Nala block for clearing pending bills. Initially, the clerk demanded Rs 8,000, which was later settled at Rs 6,000.
Ras Bihari Jha lodged a written complaint with the ACB regarding the demand for illegal gratification.
