New Delhi, Jan. 4 -- Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday termed Enforcement Directorate (ED) summons as 'illegal stating that these were only to keep him away from the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing the media here today, Kejriwal said, "I will cooperate if the ED summons is legal. Even my advocates have told me that these summonses are illegal, so how can I appear before the agency?"

Questioning the timings of the summons, Kejriwal said, "Eight months back, the CBI had called me, and I had appeared and replied to all their queries. But now these summonses are being sent at a time when the Lok Sabha elections are near, and this shows the BJP wants to keep me away from campaigning".
