New Delhi, Aug. 19 -- Senior Congress leader and former finance Minister P Chidambaram has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning in connection with in aviation scam, an official said here on Monday. The former UPA Minister has been asked to be present in the ED office on August 23. The case is related to the losses suffered by Air India due to the alleged multi-crore aviation scam and irregularities in awarding favourable air traffic rights to foreign airlines that caused huge losses to the national carrier.

Former Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel has also been questioned twice by ED recently and it is understood that the agency now wants to question Mr Chidambaram which has gathered new leads in this case....
