Bengaluru, Oct. 10 -- The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized 40 kg of gold worth over Rs 50 crore from two lockers belonging to Karnataka Congress MLA KC Veerendra, in connection with an ongoing probe into an illegal online betting racket.
According to ED officials, the searches were conducted m by the agency's Bengaluru zonal office under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. The latest recovery takes the total seizure in the case to more than Rs 150 crore, which includes earlier confiscations of around 21 kg of gold bars, cash, jewellery, luxury vehicles, and frozen bank accounts.
Veerendra, who represents the Chitradurga constituency, was arrested in August this year and remains in judicial custody. The ED investiga...
