New Delhi, Dec. 14 -- : The Enforcement Directorate's (ED) Lucknow Zonal Office on Sunday said it has conducted search operations in several locations in connection with the illegal trade and diversion of codeine-based cough syrup.
Searches were carried out at 25 premises, including the residential and office spaces of the accused and their associates, located across Lucknow, Varanasi, Jaunpur, Saharanpur, Ranchi and Ahmedabad.
The ED initiated its investigation based on 30 FIRs registered by the Uttar Pradesh Police under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act, the Indian Penal Code, and other applicable laws.
