New Delhi, April 27 -- The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting search operations at multiple locations belonging to former Punjab Police DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar and others.
The action arises from predicate offences registered by CBI, ACB, Chandigarh, relating to allegations of demand of illegal gratification through a middleman for settlement of a criminal case, along with detection of assets disproportionate to known sources of income.
"Searches are being conducted at 11 premises across (Chandigarh-2, Ludhiana dist -5, Patiala-2, Nabha-1, & Jalandhar-1) under Section 17 of PMLA, linked to the accused, associates, and suspected benamidars," said an ED official.
